Fragment mode

The Web Feed Generator uses conversion patterns to match the contents of a Web page and automatically create a news feed from it. The examples on this page match fragment anchors in FAQs and blog entries and create news items for each.

The HTML demonstration feeds on this page will open in your current browser window without navigation links. The feeds are limited to 10 items. To return to this page, use your Back navigation.

Fragment mode examples

These demonstration feeds are generated from the Web Feed Reference section of this site, which is a typical FAQ format.

Dated log mode

When the name of fragment anchors is prefixed date-, the Web Feed Generator forms a dated news item for each, like a Web log or blog. The Web Feed Generator service news and news releases pages are examples of the dated log conversion pattern, but the dates are not shown in these HTML demonstration feeds.
