Metacentric Internet Limited was incorporated in the spring of 2004 to deliver automated news feeds on a service provider basis; a quick and easy system that removes technical barriers. These notes chart key points in the company's early history.

Origins

Metacentric news and metadata services are founded on software written by Philip Shaw to promote his popular Code Style site for Web developers. These systems were designed in a way that would work with most other Web sites, without having to install or maintain any software on the primary Web site. Web site managers maintain their site in the usual way and their news feeds are updated automatically.

Metacentric Internet Limited was created to deliver these services on a commercial basis through a Web site that is easy to use and keeps technical jargon to a minimum.

22 June 2005, service launch

The Metacentric news feed and metadata service was launched on 22 June 2005.
